Interviewing Tips

Friday, February 11th, 2011

First I have a question:

How did you get the interview? Was it through your networking efforts or by submitting a resume?

The reason for this question is that the chances of you getting an interview are 90% SMALLER by just submitting resumes than through your own networking efforts, showing up in person at place of employment, or calling.

The reason is very simple, it takes more effort to pick up the phone and call until you get the interview than to just email out 50 resumes a day-hence, you get what you put in.
But when that interview comes how will you prepare?

You will be surprised to learn that many people just get the call for the interview and do NOTHING until that appointment. They just show up!

From the first example, you should know that effort equals results. If you put no effort your results will be smaller than if you took the time to prepare.
